Description

Are you a destination-person, or a journey-person? Do you like knowing the end of the story, or do you celebrate the telling of a story?

Welcome the New Moon with us on September 27th!

Sonic Moon is a sound healing experience that explores the 8 phases of the lunar cycle through frequency, vibration, silence and stillness. Using crystal & brass singing bowls, gongs, drums and chimes this class promotes deep relaxation, calm and peace as participants take their own journey musically through transition, destination, shadow and light.

The sound bath begins with a simple breath and body exercise to help people settle into the moment becoming fully present, attentive and aware. After the breath and body movement, attendees will comfortably lie down for the duration of the session, being given the freedom to encounter and experience the sounds as they fill the space.

Benefits of Sound Healing:

- Lowers heart rate and blood pressure
- Diminishes stress and anxiety
- Engages the parasympathetic nervous system, initiating calm and peace
- Encourages deep relaxation which aides in meditation
- Triggers the brain to chemically release natural opiates reducing pain and swelling
- Awakens, aligns and balances the Chakra energy centers in the body

Overall, participants can expect to leave feeling rejuvenated, balanced and centered.

This class is open to all. Come join us for a sonic experience that will take you to the moon and back.

*Pre-registration is strongly recommended as the event typically sells out.

Dare to Pair VII - Wine/Food Pairing Event

We are going to do it again! Our 7th year in a row as a group to this event!

Come enjoy a day out with the Cabrillo's culinary students as they work with the local swift street area wine makers to create delicious food pairings. This is a great value for the quality and quantity of food and wine you will experience. Our group will take part in voting for the best wine, best food and best pairing. We will start by walking around to each of the wineries on the west side of Santa Cruz, tasting the food/wine creation and then we meet at rewards ceremony area. The results are announced at the after party / rewards ceremony where we drink more wine, dance to some live music and socialize as a group.

I am asking for $80 per person if you pay on through this site (to cover my transnational fees).. or I will offer you to pay me $75 (my cost) if pay directly using paypal at this link https://www.paypal.me/SCMWT/75

DIYine: A Celebration of Homebrewing

  • Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Bubbling away under stairways, in closets, or in forsaken corners of the garage, all across the county an ancient tradition lives on: that sacred collaboration between man and microbe that converts sugars into alcohol. On Saturday, March 30th, the Bike Church is hosting an event celebrating this wondrous art.

We are pleased to announce the seventh annual DIYine (pronounced “D I Wine”), a tasting event featuring samples of homemade fruit wines, beers, mead, and soft drinks. The event will be at the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History downtown. In addition to being a fun event, it’s also a fund raiser, with all proceeds going to support the Bike Church.

Get a chance to sample some more traditional beers and wines, as well as unique items like plum port, loquat amaretto, parsley wine, and rhubarb-raisin sherry. We’ll also have a selection of soft drinks like kefir, kombucha, and our famous Breath of Fire ginger ale. The event also includes hors d’oeuvres and live music.

TICKETS are sliding-scale, $20-50 in advance, mini. $25 at the door. Buy your tickets now by following the link above.

To inquire about sharing your own beverages, contact Steve at steveschnaar@gmail.com.

DIYine is cosponsored by Mountain Feed & Farm Supply, your local resource for food preservation and home brew supplies
